Istrian Carnival Procession

Each Carnival Saturday, the Istrian city of Koper fills its streets with costumes and floats for its Pust procession. Local cultural and youth groups join a festive march of themed disguises, in a celebration, young but lively, that gives Slovenian Istria its own joyful expression of the pre-Lenten carnival.

Attenders enjoy live performances by local bands on the square, which kick off the Carnival weekend festivities.

Spectators see colorful circus-themed costumes and entertainment troupes moving from Bonifika parking along Ljubljanska cesta, enlivened by clowns and music.
