International Gwoka Festival

Festival international de Gwoka

Sainte-Anne, France

Jul 7 - 12, 2026Expected

Each July, the Guadeloupean town of Sainte-Anne celebrates Gwoka, the drum-and-voice music born among the island's enslaved people, with a great festival. Recognized by UNESCO as world heritage, gwoka fills the days with its powerful rhythms, in Europe's only festival devoted to this living traditional music.

Media proof note

The International Gwoka Festival record is date-tracked, but stronger reviewed Field Guide media would make it easier to inspect.
