Each August, the Sicilian town of Caltavuturo gathers international folk groups for a festival of dance and music. Troupes from around the world perform in the town's squares and halls, in a celebration, run by the local Gazzara folk group for nearly three decades, of the diversity of global and Sicilian tradition.

Since its founding (now about 28 editions), the festival celebrates the diversity of global and Sicilian folk traditions in the Madonie foothills. It is part of the CIOFF (Council of International Folk Art Festivals) circuit, linking Caltavuturo with world culture. The festival renews Caltavuturo’s identity as a center for safeguarding regional folklore and passing it to new generations.
