Each year, the town of Svrljig celebrates the circle dances of the Timok region with a lively folklore festival. The kolo and the old music of the valley fill the days, in a celebration of a corner of eastern Serbia long known for the strength and beauty of its folk dance and song.

Svrljig and the surrounding Timok area have a strong tradition of folk music and dance, especially the kolo. This festival was founded to showcase and preserve these traditions, bringing together dance groups from villages and neighboring countries to share Balkan folk culture. The dances and costumes reflect a blend of Serbian and local ethnic traditions.
