Similar to the May pilgrimage, the October pilgrimage (especially October 13) marks the anniversary of the final 1917 apparition. In the local Catholic context, this is a day of thanksgiving and prayer. The Sanctuary organizes an international liturgy and procession. It reinforces the community’s identity as miracle-site custodians and draws pilgrims from around Portugal and beyond.
Participants should dress modestly and observe silence of the liturgy. Traditional Catholic etiquette (sign of the cross, genuflecting, etc.) should be followed.
