Each spring, the hilltop Sicilian town of Enna holds one of the island's most striking Holy Weeks. Thousands of hooded confraternity members in long robes carry statues of the Passion through the streets in silent procession, in a deeply solemn tradition dating back to Spanish rule on the island.
