Each spring, the city of Valladolid holds one of Spain's most revered Holy Weeks, a tradition reaching back to the 1400s. Hooded penitents accompany magnificent Baroque sculptures of Christ's Passion through the old streets, in processions famous for the beauty and emotion of their carved religious art.
