Each year, the UNESCO-listed Palóc village of Hollókő fills its castle courtyard with fairy-tale fun for the Castle Games. Children are inducted as playful knights and take on medieval-themed tasks in costume, in a family celebration of Palóc folklore set among the towers of one of Hungary's most beautiful old villages.

Hollókő is a UNESCO-listed Palóc village famous for its traditional folk architecture. The Várjátékok celebrate Palóc legends (such as fairy princes and dragons) through theatrical activities. It brings local history and myth alive, reflecting the community’s valorization of ethnic folklore and the castle’s heritage.
