Named after Vladislav I Vlaicu (Vladislav Vlaicu), the 14th-century Wallachian voivode who issued the oldest surviving document mentioning Brăila (1368). The festival highlights Brăila’s strategic role on the Danube and layers of history from Roman times through medieval Vlad the Impaler up to modern day. It was organized with support from the Brăila County Museum and local authorities.
