Historic Florentine Football

Calcio Storico Fiorentino

Florence, Italy

Jun 24, 2026Confirmed

Each June, the city of Florence stages a brutal, brilliant game that is part football, part wrestling, and pure spectacle. Teams from the old city quarters battle on a sand-covered Piazza Santa Croce in Renaissance costume, in a fierce contest revived from the 1500s and led off by a grand historic parade.
