Pau is at the heart of the historical province of Béarn, part of the Occitan language area. In recent decades, regional organizations revived interest in the Occitan language and heritage. Hestiv’Oc embodies this revival, giving locals and visitors a focal point to experience traditional Béarnese songs, costumes, and dances.
