Handel Procession

Handelse Processie

Each June, thousands set out on foot from Valkenswaard before dawn for the Handel Procession, a 40-kilometer pilgrimage to a Marian chapel. Walking through the Brabant countryside to honor the Virgin, they carry on a tradition born in the 17th century in prayer against the plague, now one of the region's great acts of devotion.

Media proof note

The Handel Procession record is date-tracked, but stronger reviewed Field Guide media would make it easier to inspect.
