Ghanafest

Għanafest

Floriana, Malta

Jun 19 - 20, 2026Expected

Each June, the Argotti Gardens in Floriana fill with the sound of għana, the improvised folk song of Malta, for Ghanafest. Local għannejja trade sung poetic verses alongside Mediterranean and world music, in a celebration that honors a centuries-old oral tradition at the heart of Maltese culture.

Media proof note

The Ghanafest record is date-tracked, but stronger reviewed Field Guide media would make it easier to inspect.
