Frankfurt Museums Embankment Festival

Museumsuferfest Frankfurt

Frankfurt, Germany

Aug 28 - 30, 2026Expected

Each August, both banks of the Main in Frankfurt fill for the Museumsuferfest, one of Europe's largest cultural street festivals. The city's many museums throw open their doors while open-air stages, art markets, and food stalls line the river, turning the waterfront into a celebration of culture.

How we decide

Key moments

Live Music Concerts

Listeners can wander between stages; some dance within crowds or sit by adjacent museums. Performances are free, so festivalgoers may queue early for popular acts.

Fireworks over the Main

Attendees gather along the river esplanade to watch the choreographed fireworks show launching from barges. Visitors often leave blankets or portable chairs to enjoy the display.
