Mount Athos, Greece

Jul 18, 2026Expected

Each summer, the Great Lavra, the oldest and first-ranked monastery on Mount Athos, honors its founder, Saint Athanasios the Athonite. With full Athonite splendor the monks celebrate the man who, in the year 963, began the monastic life that still shapes the entire Holy Mountain.
