Each August 6, on Transfiguration Day, the medieval Sicilian town of Cefalù honors its patron, Jesus the Savior, with a week of celebration. Devotion dating back to Norman times, when the great cathedral was consecrated, fills the festival, in one of the most cherished holy days of this beautiful town on the Tyrrhenian coast.
