Each summer, the lakeside castle gardens of Eutin become an open-air stage for the Eutiner Festspiele, a festival of opera and musical theatre. Founded in 1951 in honor of the composer Carl Maria von Weber, born in the town, it joins fine music with the natural beauty of the castle grounds, in a beloved North German summer tradition.
