This festival underscores Eupen’s post-war cultural ties with the Alps, initiated to strengthen sister-region relations. Each year a partner region in Tyrol/South Tyrol is featured, bringing regional ensembles and folklore performances to Eupen. It has grown into a local landmark, symbolically re-enacting Alpine tradition in a Belgian setting, thus enriching the community’s identity with an international theme.
