Each year, the south of Luxembourg looks to Esch-sur-Alzette for its biggest carnival, a three-day whirl of concerts, costume balls, and revelry. It builds to the Escher Cavalcade on Sunday, when floats and costumed crowds fill the town center with music and color.

Esch-sur-Alzette’s Carnival is known as "Fuesendweekend" and is the largest in the south of Luxembourg. Celebrated by primarily Francophone and Germanophone communities in the Red Lands, it features both traditional masked balls and public street parades, reflecting the multicultural local identity.
