Each autumn, the Odenwald town of Erbach holds the Wiesenmarkt, a ten-day fair and one of the oldest folk festivals in Hesse. Agricultural exhibits, horse shows, fairground rides, and a great market of crafts and sausages fill the days, in a celebration with roots reaching back to medieval tournaments and country fairs.
