The Vevčani Vodici blends Orthodox ritual with local folklore. The spring waters are considered sacred, and collecting holy water in jars is part of the custom. The community sees it as a renewal of faith and well-wishing for the year in a scenic natural setting.
This is a communal prayer event. Non-residents should dress modestly for church and follow the procession. After the dive, the cross is kissed by participants, so allow order.
Attendance can be appropriate while active documentation is not. Let local boundaries define your role.
