Each year since 1954, the Breton town of Pont-l'Abbé celebrates the embroidery of the Pays Bigouden with the Festival des Brodeuses. Embroidery workshops, a needlework competition, and parades of dancers and musicians in traditional costume and tall lace coiffes fill the festival, in a proud tribute to a cherished local craft.
