The Bergfeuer Ehrwald are traditional mountain bonfires lit in the Ehrwald basin of the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena each year around the summer solstice. Volunteers create large fire pictures using sawdust and rapeseed oil, illuminating the alpine slopes. The event on 20 June 2026 at 22:00 is confirmed by the official organizer and is recognised in Austria’s national inventory of intangible cultural heritage.
