Part of the Upper Lusatia Catholic-Sorbian Easter heritage, this ride underscores the region’s dual linguistic tradition. Sorbian and German hymns are sung from church to church; the monastery (Kloster St. Marienstern) serves as a cultural anchor. Customs like the Easter egg decorations and prayers for spring are woven into the ride.
Maintain silence out of respect during hymns and services.
Attendance can be appropriate while active documentation is not. Let local boundaries define your role.
