Easter Monday Water-Dousing & Willow-Whipping

Tradičná veľkonočná oblievačka a šibačka v Trenčianskej Teplej

Each Easter Monday, the village of Trenčianska Teplá rides out for the šibačka and oblievačka. Men in traditional kroje ride a horse-drawn cart with willow whips and buckets to whip and douse the girls, in a celebration rooted in the old springtime purification rites of Slovakia.

Media proof note

The Easter Monday Water-Dousing & Willow-Whipping record is date-tracked, but stronger reviewed Field Guide media would make it easier to inspect.
