Each August 15, the island of Paros celebrates the Dormition of the Virgin at the ancient Panagia Ekatontapyliani, the Church of the Hundred Doors. Pilgrims and islanders fill one of Greece's oldest churches for a full day of liturgy and communal celebration, in a feast at the heart of the island's deep Orthodox heritage.
