Each year, the Navarrese village of Burgui revives its old timber-rafting heritage with the Day of the Almadía. Rafters build a traditional wooden raft and steer it down the Eska River as folk music, dance, and crafts fill the banks, in a celebration of the logging life that floated Pyrenean timber downstream for centuries.
The Day of the Almadía (Log Raft Day) record is date-tracked, but stronger reviewed Field Guide media would make it easier to inspect.

Each year, the Navarrese village of Burgui revives its old timber-rafting heritage with the Day of the Almadía. Since medieval times, forests above Navarra's Pyrenees provided timber for construction. Rafters assembled logs into rafts and floated them downriver. The festival reenacts this practice as a tribute to the careers of the ‘almadieros’ (logdrivers), highlighting the community’s historical bond with the river and mountains.
