Each year, the Bulgarian town of Nikopol celebrates the life of the Danube river communities with a festival of folklore and food. Folk music and dance join demonstrations of old fishing and farming ways and a fair of riverside dishes, especially fish, in a warm celebration of the traditions that the great river has shaped.
