Each October 14, on the feast of the Intercession, the Mamaeva Sloboda open-air complex in Kyiv hosts the Cossack Kosh. Martial displays, music, and folk traditions honor the Zaporozhian Cossacks, who held this holy day sacred, in a celebration of the warrior brotherhood at the heart of Ukrainian history.
The Cossack Kosh record is date-tracked, but stronger reviewed Field Guide media would make it easier to inspect.

Learn about Field GuideIn Ukrainian tradition, Pokrova (October 14) has been a sacred holiday of the Mother of God and patron saint of the Kozaks. After 1942 it also marked the founding of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, and since 2015 it coincides with Ukraine’s Defender’s Day. The festival thus reflects both spiritual heritage and national history.
