Accensione dell’albero di Natale e del Presepe in Piazza San Pietro

Vatican City, Vatican City

Dates to be announcedDates pending

Each December, a towering Christmas tree and a life-size nativity scene are unveiled in St. Peter's Square, the heart of the Vatican's holiday season. The lighting draws crowds beneath the great basilica, in a tradition begun by Pope John Paul II in 1982 to mark the meaning of Christmas.
