Brčko is Bosnia-and-Herzegovina’s only multi-ethnic condominium district, created by the Dayton peace accords (finalized March 1999) and formally established on 8 March 2000. This date became the district’s own public holiday. The festivities highlight the coexistence of Bosniak, Croat, and Serb communities in Brčko.
