Botarga of Fuentes de la Alcarria (La Pantasma and El Alforjero)

Botarga de Fuentes de la Alcarria: La Pantasma y El Alforjero

On Christmas morning in Fuentes de la Alcarria, two masked figures called La Pantasma and El Alforjero burst out of the church after mass and tear through the village streets. Their wild antics delight the crowd in an old botarga tradition of the Alcarria region, blending Christian and far older winter customs into one Christmas Day spectacle.
