Blacksmithing has deep roots in the Carpathian region’s craft traditions. Forging metal has long been an important trade in Galicia, supplying tools and art. This festival highlights those ties by reviving and preserving blacksmithing skills. It also integrates the craft into the city’s cultural identity, as forged sculptures from past festivals are displayed throughout Ivano-Frankivsk.
