Every Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday, the Derbyshire town of Ashbourne plays a wild two-day game of street football that engulfs the whole town. Hundreds push and surge through streets and streams to reach goals miles apart, in one of England's last great surviving medieval mass football traditions.
