May 21 - 23, 2026ExpectedSource

Each late May, the northern Greek town of Lagkadas holds the Anastenaria, a barefoot fire-walking ritual for the feast of Saints Constantine and Helen. Devotees carry holy icons as they step across glowing coals, in a deeply moving tradition brought here long ago by Greek refugees from Thrace.
