The Holy Forty Martyrs of Sebaste are the titular saints of Xeropotamou Monastery. Each year on this feast, the monastic community gathers in front of the monastery’s katholikon to celebrate the martyrdom of 40 Roman soldiers for their Christian faith in the 4th century.
