Dunkeld Cathedral
In 849, relics of St Columba were moved here from Iona to protect them from Viking raids, making Dunkeld the inland successor to Iona's spiritual authority. The ruined nave and the restored choir reveal a building that spans centuries of Christian worship and survived Reformation destruction. The cathedral sits at a key crossing of the River Tay, a natural route between Highland and Lowland Scotland.
