Halych National Reserve "Davniy Halych"
The National Reserve preserves the archaeological remains of medieval Halych — the name-origin city of Galicia (Halychyna) and the capital of the Principality and Kingdom of Galicia-Volhynia. It contains basements of 14 churches from the 12th-13th centuries and over 200 archaeological monuments, making the earliest layers of Galician statehood and Christian worship legible on-site. The Reserve is the institutional custodian connecting the medieval capital to modern heritage narratives.
