Bajram Curri Monument
Monument to Bajram Curri (1862–1925), a highland chieftain from Tropojë who fought the Ottoman Empire and then the Albanian government, posthumously named Hero of Albania. The town was renamed for him during the communist period, reflecting the regime's appropriation of highland resistance figures for national mythology. The monument sits in the Valbonë Valley near the Kosovo border, at the junction of Gheg-speaking communities across two countries.
