OperaFest Tulchyn is an annual international open-air opera festival held in the historic Potocki Palace park in Tulchyn. Launched in 2017, it showcases grand operatic and ballet productions outdoors, bringing world-class opera to Podillia. Each year features premieres and famous works (for example, the opening gala often includes Donizetti’s comic opera "Viva la Mamma" 1). The festival is free to attend and has drawn large audiences (over 150,000 viewers in 2021 2, strengthening Tulchyn’s cultural identity as a hub of classical music in Ukraine.
Situated in the palace of Field Marshal Potocki, OperaFest revitalizes the Baroque heritage of Tulchyn by using its palace grounds as a grand stage 1 2. The event was established to highlight Ukraine’s operatic talent and to celebrate the historical ties between western Ukraine and classical music traditions. It reflects modern Podillia’s embrace of high culture, blending Ukrainian and foreign artistic influences in a unique setting.
