The Art-Weekend Festival is a grassroots cultural event held at the historic Odesa Film Studio, bringing together local artists, craftspeople, and performers from across Odesa oblast. Its focus is on showcasing modern creative expression alongside traditional crafts, serving a primarily Ukrainian audience while also raising support for the military. It is a blend of workshops, live performances, and an arts & crafts marketplace, offering visitors a glimpse into Odesa’s contemporary creative community.
Launched in 2024 during peacetime, Art-Weekend arose from a need to invigorate Odesa's artistic scene in off-season months. It is organized by local civic groups including the Odesa military administration and NGO "Mira.Art.Platform". While it features modern art and music, it deliberately draws on local heritage by including traditional artisans and by artist Mirra Udovychenko's vision to show Odesa’s culture beyond its beach image. The festival is also framed as a fundraiser for the navy, reflecting the city’s wartime reality.
