Esencia is a newly established three-day festival (first edition in 2025) celebrating the traditional culture of the Košice region 1. The festival features folk art, music, dance, crafts, and traditions embedded in local costumes and songs 1. Events include concerts, dance performances and craft demonstrations, aiming to inspire community participation and intergenerational sharing of heritage 1.
Organized by the local cultural center of the Košice Self-Governing Region, Esencia is designed to revive and showcase the region’s folk traditions. It creates a living link between past and future generations through stage performances and exhibits of local folklore patterns (vzory) 1.
