Hip Hop Žije is an annual hip-hop music festival held in Bratislava, first launched in the mid-2010s. As reported in 2025, it is "the largest event of its kind" in the Czech and Slovak region 1, featuring top Czech and Slovak rappers and DJs. The two-day summer festival at Zlaté piesky lake includes live performances by leading hip-hop acts, DJ sets and youth entertainment. It immerses attendees in Slovak hip-hop culture and draws crowds of local fans to the capital’s beach venue each late June.
Hip Hop Žije celebrates contemporary Slovak and Czech urban music culture. By showcasing local rap artists (e.g. Pil C, Ego, Tina) and graffiti art, it reflects the identity of Bratislava’s youth subculture. While globally-influenced, the festival is rooted in local creativity rather than a foreign import.
