The Tartini Festival is an international summer chamber music festival dedicated to composer Giuseppe Tartini (born in Piran). Held annually in late August in Piran (and sometimes nearby Koper), it features baroque and classical concerts, often using Tartini’s own violin provided by the maritime museum 1. Headlining ensembles include Austrian Baroque Company and I Solisti Veneti.
Named after Piran’s native son Giuseppe Tartini, the festival highlights local musical heritage and the Istrian baroque tradition. Performances in historic venues (e.g., Minorite Monastery) connect Pirans identity to its Venetian-Gothic architecture and saltpan history.
