Ystad Culture NightYstads kulturnatt

Ystad Kulturnatt is a contemporary cultural festival in the town of Ystad (Skåne) first held in 2023. It showcases local music, art and heritage through open-air events, workshops and performances. A highlight of the festival is the vibrant Kulturparaden – a colorful procession from Österportstorg to Stortorget – followed by an opening ceremony and festivities in the town square. The event is freely accessible, family-friendly, and aims to celebrate Ystad’s creative community each autumn 1 2.

The festival was initiated by a local cultural association (Kulturnatt i Syd) inspired by similar culture nights elsewhere in Sweden. It brings together local artists, schools and organizations to energize the town with cultural activities. Although a new event, it quickly became a fixture of Ystad’s cultural calendar, reflecting the city’s growing arts scene.
