An annual autumn city festival in the UNESCO World Heritage town of Visby. The event fills the medieval city with cultural activities – guided heritage walks, concerts on stage, childrens’ events, fashion shows and a large open-air market – culminating in a ceremonial opening in Visby’s cathedral 1. It celebrates the local community by showcasing Visby’s historical identity and contemporary culture.
Visbydagarna brings all ages together in Visby’s historic walled town, honoring Visby’s medieval history while promoting contemporary local culture. As a highlight of the fall calendar, residents and visitors partake in touring the Hanseatic city, enjoying local crafts and music, and celebrating Visby’s heritage in communal city spaces 1.
