Carnival in Eindhoven is a multi-day pre-Lenten festival during which the city renames itself "Lampegat" and the entire center becomes a giant festival ground 1. From Friday to Shrove Tuesday the city hosts concerts, bars, and parades celebrating local culture. Highlights include costumed street partying on Stratumseind and polonaises, and a grand parade on Saturday through the city centre (Stratumsedijk, Bleekstraat, etc.) 2.
