Cultura Nova is an annual summer arts festival held in Heerlen (surrounding Park Vijverdal). Since its founding in the 1980s by the Zuidelijk Toneel theater company, it has grown into a multi-disciplinary festival featuring contemporary theatre, music, dance, and visual art. The festival prides itself on avant-garde performances and surprises luring both local and national audiences 1.
