Ljetnja scena is an annual open-air performing arts festival held on Slaves’ Square (Trg robova) in Ulcinj’s Old Town, under the medieval Balšić Tower 1. For three weeks each August, the festival presents theatre plays, music and literary programs featuring domestic and foreign artists. The historic square and fortress setting create a unique cultural atmosphere. Local performers are joined by visiting ensembles and authors, showcasing Ulcinj’s cultural heritage and community creativity.
Set in Ulcinj’s Old Town, Ljetnja scena leverages the city’s medieval ambiance. The Slaves’ Square (Trg robova) and Balšić Tower, remnants of the Ottoman and Balšić periods, provide a backdrop that connects modern performances to Ulcinj’s maritime heritage and history of coastal trade. The festival promotes local traditions and intercultural dialogue through staged plays and music.
