An annual international folklore festival held in Ulcinj each summer, focusing on traditional dance and music. Folk ensembles from Montenegro and neighboring countries perform folkloric dances and songs in authentic national costumes. Concerts take place on open-air stages near the historic Old Town and Mala Plaža (Little Beach). Besides entertainment, the festival aims to preserve and showcase Balkan cultural heritage, providing a gathering spot for ethnic communities and visitors to experience traditional arts.
Ulcinj’s multiethnic history and coastal location make it a crossroads of Balkan cultures. The Dolcinium Festival continues this heritage by inviting folk groups from various Balkan nations, reflecting co-existence of Montenegrin, Albanian, Slavic and other traditions in the region.
